COVID-19 Virus Update

MAY 8, 2020

Effective May 8, 2020, the Governor of Pennsylvania and the PA Dept. of Health have lifted the restrictions on non emergent dental care. As a result of this, both KCAD and Oxford Dental Assoc. will begin seeing patients for non emergent dental care on Thursday, May 14th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We will resume our normal hours of operation on Monday, May 18, 2020.

While many things have changed over the last 10 weeks, including the environment that we will be treating patients in, please rest assured that our commitment to the highest level of quality care, adherence to infection control standards and individualized treatment will continue in the same manner as they have been for past 30 years!

The 3 main changes that you will immediately notice is that each patient will be asked screening questions either at the time of their confirmation call or at the time of their appointment. Every patient will also have a temperature scan performed upon entering the building. The second thing that will be asked of all patients is that you remain in your vehicle and call the office when you have arrived. When your treatment room is prepared for your appointment, we will notify you via telephone call or text and then you may enter the office. The third and final thing that will change is that all payments/copayments for treatment rendered other than routine hygiene maintenance will be collected either via telephone during your confirmation call or prior to your being seated for your appointment. This will greatly reduce the “traffic jam” at the front desk and minimize the overall time that you will be in the office.

The choreography of these changes is new to all of us and will no doubt be tweaked in the coming weeks. During this time, I ask for everybody’s patience and understanding as we work through the subtle nuances associated with these changes. This is new to all of us, and while I do not make the rules I do have to abide by them.

While the responsibilities in running a health care facility are greater now than ever before, my main responsibilities have and always will be keeping my patients, my staff and myself SAFE.

If you have any questions regarding these new policies please feel free to reach out to me personally at Be safe, be well and be POSITIVE!

All the best,

Peter P. Patellis, DMD DICOI

“From the beginning to the end, I have had nothing but confidence in your knowledge and ability to provide the best care. I have been a long time patient and have been very happy with the kindness, consideration, and efficiency of you and your staff.”
